Summer Camp Experience

Application Requirements:

• Online Application

Primary Activities:

• Academics: 2 hours/day of authentic problem-based learning led by certified teachers. 

• Career: 30 minutes/day interacting with local STEM career women

• Creativity: 1.5 hours/day completing hands-on STEM project-based learning tasks

• Leadership: 1 hour/day in small group leadership session led by high school and college STEM scholars

• Service: 1 hour/daily organizing and executing a community service project

Supporting Activities: 

• Mindfulness and physical activity

• Personal portfolio

The Summer Camp Experience is a 1-week residential (sleepaway) summer camp where girls are first introduced to the 5 Karat Gems Curriculum Framework. Imagine girls fully engaged, confident, and finally having fun while making friends in an interactive learning environment! Gems engage daily in STEM learning and confidence-building activities through the 5 Karat Curriculum.
